City & Culture

Stratford itself is the type of walkable wholesome town Rodgers and Hammerstein might write a musical about.
— Amy Alipio, Associate Editor, National Geographic Traveler

Stratford is a truly walkable city, particularly from the central location of The Bradshaw Lofts. Guests are just steps away from all that the City of Stratford has to offer. Within a five to ten minute walk, guests will find some of our favourite and highly recommended coffee shops like The Livery Yard, Revel Cafe, The Alley Cat Cafe, and Edison’s. Visit Market Square for live music, markets and seasonal outdoor dining. Shop Wellington St. and visit our friends at Wills and Prior* or venture down Ontario Street and shop at the original Bradshaw family store, Watson's Chelsea Bazaar. Another great kitchen supply shop you won't want to miss is Bradshaws and Kitchen Detail.

Discover independent bookstores, spas and salons, first class eateries and bars like Foster's Inn, the Stratford Chef School, Pazzo Taverna,  and The Common. You’ll make it for showtime at any of the downtown theatres, the Avon, Tom Patterson or Studio Theatre and you’re just a five minute taxi ride to the Festival Theatre in Upper Queen’s Park. More than just arts and culture, Stratford boasts a fantastic waterfront and trail system that’s accessible in 10 minutes from the Bradshaw Lofts. The VIA rail train station is a 5 minute walk south of the Bradshaw. Taxi and Uber Ridesharing are also great ways to get around.

*Many of the interior design accents you'll find at the Bradshaw Lofts, specifically in the Penthouse Suite, were purchased at Wills and Prior.

dining

There is magic and passion in restaurant kitchens, on the plate and in your glass. Fuelled by freshness arriving at the restaurant’s kitchen door and featured on a blackboard dinner menu the same day, Stratford chefs are always pushing the limits. Plant-based menu choices and hip restaurants deliver exciting, new-world flavours. While Global trends influence dishes created with locally sourced ingredients.¹

arts & theatre

Stratford is synonymous with the arts: music, drama, dance, the visual arts, literature and the culinary arts. The City is filled with the sights and sounds of actors, musicians, chefs, hoteliers, artists and writers perfecting their craft and passion. Stratford's arts and culture scene is a leading contributor to the growth of the City's creative economy.²
